EYE MUSIC ART EXHIBITION
OBJECTIVE
To create a brand for an art exhibition in San Francisco, dedicated to the rich history of music in the city. San Francisco has been home to many legendary musicians such as Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. In honouring the diversity of genres that coexist to make up the different music scenes, the event turns the historic music venue, The Fillmore, into a space for installation where local artists create pieces inspired by songs that were written in or tied to the city.
APPROACH
With a great emphasis on establishing a brand that is embracing, eclectic and spirited, the concept of Eye Music is based on musical notation that employs visual symbols noticeable to performers but are not to listeners; thus, referencing graphics based on music scores. The graphic element from a glance looks like piano keys, but it was originally developed based on blank paper strips for music boxes that extends in one long piece for an uninterrupted song.
